Texas Holdem Tips
Texas Holdem is the most played poker game throughout every online poker site and chances are you're looking to play Holdem if you made it to my article. We're going to take a look at some beginner Texas Holdem tips that helped me when I first started playing the game online. There are hundreds of tips that I could share with you, but I'm sure you don't want to be here for hours reading through my article, so I'll only share the best Holdem tips with you.
You should follow a strict hand selection guide when you're just starting to play the game. The more you stray away from starting hands such as pocket pairs, high suited connectors or variations of A/K, A/Q, A/J, the more you're going to open yourself up to losing a lot of money. When you start playing marginal hands such as low suited connectors you never know where you are in the hand. You may hit your flush, but if you have someone betting into you, you'll never know if you're flush is good.
You'll be able to bluff and semi-bluff quite a bit when you're playing Holdem. For instance, if a player raises preflop and the flop is 10, 7, 6, you probably don't need to worry about the player having hit the board. They may have an over pair, but typically they'll have a hand like A/K, A/Q, K/Q or something similar and they're just making a c-bet. Even if you didn't hit the board this is a great opportunity to make a nice sized raise to try and push the initial raiser off his hand.
When you have the nuts try and allow your opponents to build the pot for you until the river. I see plenty of new players bet the nuts way too much and never get paid off. Sometimes you need to bet the nuts if there are other draws on the board that could beat you, but if there isn't you really need to try and slow play the hand to see if you can extract more chips from your opponents.
